We would like to thank all our volunteers: without them we could not stage our events, and make them fun, exciting and above all safe! We also want to ensure our marshals’ safety and comfort, which includes making sure they know what it means to be a marshal – and what they are not expected to do.
Find below a number of short videos originally published by Mountain Biking Australia. The first one outlines how to best prepare for the day out.
The second video offers a great description of the main tasks – note that some of these may not apply to our marshals and we will confirm that during the marshal briefing.
And finally a few points about the use fo UHF / CB radios. We aim to ensure every marshal has a radio, however, we know that on some parts of our trails reception can be patchy. Our marshal briefing notes will contain further information about radio etiquette & calling.
And finally our marshal briefing document – we would greatly appreciate if you could read this before the briefing.
Below the plan for the marshal positions for 2021 Race 5.
